The
Enforcer's running back John Avery lies on the field after
his team's week 2 loss, in overtime, against the LA Xtreme.
Most of their losses have been close games. Will this
be the week that the Enforcers finally notch the win column?

Chicago
- (24 February 2001) -- After
3 long, hard, arduous, and losing weeks on the road, as well
as not being at home in almost 2 months, the Chicago Enforcers
come home to Chicago and Soldier Field in week 4 to battle another
0-3 team, the NY-NJ Hitmen.
The
Enforcers are the only team in the XFL to have 3 consecutive
road games. But, these weren't normal 3 consecutive road games,
remember that they also had to start the season on the road.
The Enforcers ended up on the lowest level of expectation in
these first 3 weeks, going on the road losing their 3 games.
Now, they come home to play against the other winless XFL team,
the NY-NJ Hitmen.
Personally,
I hated to see this happen. This is not only demeaning and hurtful
to these teams' locations, but it is also harmful to the league
to have their 2 worst teams battle it out on national TV. But,
it won't end up this way. It could be another close one for
the Enforcers, or it could be a big defeat against the Hitmen.
Either way, it should be an explosive game to watch.
The
first non-NFL football game of the century at Soldier Field,
will happen on Saturday night.
The
offense match ups for both teams look pretty good. The Enforcers
have the best QB in this matchup, even if you have Wally Richardson
start. John Avery is incomparable, so, don't even try. The Hitmen
and the Enforcers do have a good matchup at the WR position.
Kirby DarDar and Anthony DiCosmo against Aaron Bailey and Roell
Preston. That should be good to watch.
The
defenses for both teams are very good, especially when you compare
the LB position. Jaime Baisley is one of the toughest LBs in
the XFL. Not to mention Mike Barber and the rest of the Hitmen
linebackers. The cornerbacks have a straight away edge towards
Chicago. You just can't beat Corey Ivy, Troy Saunders, and Ray
Austin. The defensive line for both teams are pretty similar.
Since
the weather here in Chicago will be just like the XFL wants,
we shall get a good game. As of now, the expected gametime forecast
is for rain and about a 40 degree temperature. It should get
muddy, as it is supposed to rain all weekend in Chicago.
My
prediction is that this will be a low scoring game that will
be decided solely on the QB performance and how well they pass.
The passing game will be immensely key for both teams. I am
guessing that Chicago will win this one in OT, and upset the
SNL crew, but it will be better than the week 2 OT thriller.
