OUTLAWS REDUCE ROSTER TO 62
Criner and Staff Waive Four, Send Four Others to Reserve - Injured List; Next Cutdown to 55 Players Next Sunday

LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas Outlaws Head Coach Jim Criner complied with the XFL's roster mandate of 62 active players by 6:00 a.m. PT Monday by waiving four individuals and placing four others on the league's Reserve - Injured list.

Those waived today include former Nebraska LB Troy Dumas, former Miami Hurricane RB Carlo Joseph, DT Bryant Shaw, and longtime NFL WR Cedric Tillman, a Henderson resident who had been out of professional football for three seasons.

The Outlaws also placed four players on the league's Reserve - Injured list, including former BYU CB Brian Gray (hamstring), LB Julius Jackson (ankle), OT Mark Nori (knee) and DT Tom Tovo (knee). These players are unable to play in the XFL during the 2001 season, with the Outlaws retaining their rights for 2002. Should these Reserve - Injured individuals return this season, they would re-enter the league's active player pool through the normal waiver process.

The Outlaws return to a normal practice schedule on Monday, with two-a-day sessions at Sam Boyd Stadium at 9:30 and 3:00 each day this week through Friday. Saturday's scrimmage is closed to the public and media, while on Sunday, January 21, XFL teams must reduce their active rosters to 55 players. The Outlaws and their seven XFL brethren cut down to the final 45-man roster (38 active/7 practice squad) on January 28.
